About CFA Institute

CFA Institute is a global, nonprofit member organization of financial analysts, portfolio managers, and other investment professionals.

Overview

The CFA Society of Orlando was founded in 1993 as a chapter of CFA Institute.  The CFA Society of Orlando was created to serve the needs of the area's financial community.

Mission Statement

The Society's mission is to provide access to information, ideas, theories, and individuals in a variety of disciplines in an effort to promote continuing education within the investment field. Additionally, the Society provides a setting for investment professionals to meet and exchange ideas.

Benefits of Membership

CFA Society of Orlando generally meets from October through March (check our calendar). We primarily have luncheon meetings, but ocasionally dinner meetings. Our meetings are designed to increase the knowledge of the area's investment professionals through the use of guest speakers on topics of interest to the members.

Every year we conduct a survey among our members regarding their interest in speakers. Based on the survey, we select speakers covering timely topics of interest. Please see our calendar history for a sample of past speakers. Prior speakers include Jim Rogers, Mark Faber, Abby Joseph Cohen, Richard Hokenson, and A. Marshall Acuff, Jr., to name a few. The meetings are open to society members and guests with reservations made in advance.

The Society also sponsors a CFA candidate social so that candidates in the Orlando area can meet each other and form study groups.

As a member of the CFA Society of Orlando, you are also a member of CFA Institute. Accordingly, you receive CFA Institute publications and the CFA Institute membership directory which lists all of the Societies as well as their members.
